"We have not heard the relationship between spiritual perception and science described so beautifully before as it was by you – two sides of the coin. Thank you for a wonderful evening.”

Cecilia Bingham, Devon.

Your energy flow paradigm makes total sense to me. As you show, it explains all of Einstein's findings but also explains the arrow of time.

Lloyd Morgan, Director, Central Brain Tumor Registry of the United States.

"I thought your talk at the London College of Spirituality 2012 Forum was absolutely fantastic - interesting, funny, massively informative and you made some complex science very accessible.  Your books have been on my to-buy list since then, how wonderful that they are now on their way.  I really look forward to reading them."

Dee Apolline, The Big Chi, London.

Of a multimedia presentation:

"I just want to say a BIG, BIG thank you for your magnificent 'performance' last night!

It was truly inspirational and a wonderful kick off to the whole evening. You are definitely a communicator!"

Sue Minns, Author

"I very much enjoyed your book 'Tapestry of Light' ."

H.S., Artist.

“A friend lent me your book ‘Breath of the Cosmos’.

It takes my breath away.”

P.H., Complementary Therapist..

Do you have a deep inner sense of connectedness with something - with everything?

Are you looking for a simple, but totally authentic, understanding of physical reality

that resonates one hundred percent with that sense of connectedness?

Is it important to you to have a rock-solid foundation for your outlook on life?

If so, then you're just

the sort of person that IHS is here for.

The Institute for Harmonious Science is here to help:

Educationalists needing robust peer-reviewed science for courses on Holistic Science

Complementary therapists seeking scientific support for a therapy that they know works

Holistic scientists looking for underlying connections between elements of nature

Particle/Quantum Physicists open to new ways of seeing how the universe is put together

Jo/Joe Public who just know that there's more to life - and intend to find it.

These are just some of the many people whose lives can be lifted to a new level by

100 years of peer-reviewed science, including findings of over a dozen Nobel Laureates.

That science is deeply profound, but its implications are very simple to understand.

Those implications can be summed up in just five words:
Everything is made of light.

This simple teaching has been with us for hundreds, maybe thousands, of years.

Until now it's seemed like a nice, but rather un-scientific, way to see things -

but now, at last, science has caught up with the mystics: that 'nice idea' is the true reality.

Peer-reviewed journal papers published in 2011 give a step-by-step account of how

all sorts of scientific phenomena, from effects of relativity and gravity even to effects

of time itself, are all very easily and thoroughly explained by the one all-embracing truth:

Every smallest sub-atomic particle is a closed loop of light - not frozen, not crystallized,

but incredibly dynamic, circling round at unimaginable speed - the speed of light.

You might ask: So what? How does that change things?

It changes everything.

This light-based picture of the universe says that the entire cosmos is,

in effect, a massive three-dimensional tapestry - a tapestry of light.

That perspective on reality has far-reaching implications for consciousness,

for intention, for the interconnectedness of everything in our universe - including us.

Come with us on a magical journey - feet firmly on the ground, mind free to explore

concepts formerly written off as 'woo-woo', now supported by a century of science

published by leading journals & authored by many of the best-known scientific names.

But leave your calculator at home, there'll be no maths or tricky stuff on this journey.

IHS is taking a sabbatical whilst the website is being refurbished.

The Principal: Grahame Blackwell

BTech(Hons) PGCE PhD(AI) MBCS CITP CEng EurIng FCybS

Dr Grahame Blackwell, Director of The Institute for Harmonious Science, has over thirty years experience in education including almost twenty years as a Senior Lecturer and Researcher in the university environment.  In that role he has been responsible for innovative course development and delivery at all levels.

Dr Blackwell has also supervised research at MPhil and PhD level and, as the Head of a university-based team in a multimillion-pound international Research and Development project, made keynote presentations to industry & research leaders in Europe & the USA.

Dr Blackwell is a Fellow of The Cybernetics Society.  Cybernetics is a branch of the Systems Sciences, which deal with complex dynamic systems and interactions between the various elements of those systems - in other words, it's truly Holistic Science.

In 2011 Dr Blackwell published two ground-breaking papers in an international peer-reviewed systems-sciences journal.  Those papers describe a radically new perspective on time, space and matter that explains many fundamental aspects of material reality that have never before been explained.  References for those papers are given below on the right; their implications are detailed opposite under 'The Principles'.

Dr Blackwell lives on Dartmoor, UK, where regular walks among the trees, rivers and tors (granite-topped hills) of that wilderness landscape have brought much inspiration from nature.

That inspiration, that research experience and insight, that breadth of experience in educational program construction, management and delivery - all of these are brought together in the teachings of The Institute for Harmonious Science.

Those teachings are brought to you with a proven track record of communicating complex concepts in a way that all can understand (see above).  This combination of skills and experience ensures that IHS can seriously address your need for a coherent view of reality, a view that's totally in alignment with your own inner sense of personal connection with all that is.     [More notes on Dr Blackwell here.]

The Principles: The Unity Theory ®

The teachings of The Institute for Harmonious Science are derived from the principles of The Unity Theory of Time and Space, Matter and Light.  The Unity Theory consists of a set of ten principles that all follow logically and scientifically from the one fundamental premise that all matter is formed from light.

That premise itself is based on a substantial body of scientific evidence from over a century of research by many top names in the world of science, including more than a dozen Nobel Laureates.

The Principles of The Unity Theory include observations such as:

The universe is holographic (in the truly scientific sense);

Our perception of objects as 'separate' is an illusion;

Time is also an illusion;

Consciousness is not just an aspect of the physical body.

They also include a very significant change in perspective from the standard view of Relativity, as well as the important observation that this Theory is itself a limited view of a deeper reality.

Details of The Unity Theory can be found here.

The book Tapestry of Light gives a non-technical overview of the light-based nature of physical matter, explaining how this gives the impression of 'particles' and of 'solid objects'.  The companion volume Breath of the Cosmos gives a flowing illustrated poetic presentation of the same scientific truths.

The scientific rationale for teachings embodied in The Unity Theory is provided by Dr Blackwell in two peer-reviewed papers published in the international journal ‘Kybernetes’:

1. Blackwell, G., “Elementary sub-atomic particles: the earliest adaptive systems.”, Kybernetes, Vol. 40 No. 1/2, pp. 200-212 (2011).

2. Blackwell, G., “Cosmic System Dynamics: A Cyberneticist’s Perspective on Gravitation.”, Kybernetes, Vol. 40 No. 9/10, pp. 1319-1330 (2011).         [Find information on both papers here.]

Kybernetes is the journal of the World Organisation of Systems and Cybernetics, recognised by UNESCO.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.  Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

Margaret Mead, co-founder of the Systems Science of Cybernetics.
